Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how we use the personal data we collect from users of our website and our web-based service, and what we do with this data.

What We Collect

  • Personal Identification Information
We collect your name and valid email address when you sign up to use our service. We also collect your geolocation, in order to prevent fraudulent access.
  • Anonymous Visitor Information
When people view content that you choose to share on social media and elsewhere, we cannot identify them personally. Instead, we collect the following information: IP address, the browser "User Agent" string, and the date and time when they view your content.

How We Collect Data

When you sign up to use our service, you directly provide us with the personal identification information we collect, such as your name and email address.

When people view content you share, their browser automatically provides us with the information we collect, such as the IP address and the "User Agent" header.

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal information to manage your account and keep it safe. We may use this data to communicate with you, in the form of alerts related to your account, and periodic communications related to the services we provide. We use the anonymous visitor data to report back to you about how people are engaging with your shared content.

We do not share your data with any third parties, unless we are required to do so by law (e.g. if a third party has a court order or has statutory authority to compel the provision of your data).

How We Store Your Data

We store your data on secure and firewalled servers at Amazon Web Services. We have put into place policies and procedures to safeguard and secure access to your data. Be aware, however, that no transmission of data over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

How We Use Your Google Data

Personal Information Collected
If you use the Add from Google Photos feature to add photos from your Google Photos account to your personal journal entries, you will be asked to grant permission for the service to access your Google Photos account. If you grant this permission, Google generates a temporary Google Photos access token that we make use of.

How We Use Your Personal Information
We use the Google Photos access token to display your photos and to download copies of the photos you select for inclusion in your journal. We do not store the Google Photos access token, and we do not use it for any other purpose. The downloaded photos are scaled-down copies of the originals, and are stored along with the journal entries on our servers.

Who Has Access to Your Personal Information
Only you have access to your Google Photos token. We do not share it with any third party under any circumstance. Your downloaded photos are also not shared with anyone, unless you explicitly choose to share the corresponding journal entries on social media.

How You Can Control Your Personal Information
Though the Google Photos access token is only valid for an hour after you grant permission, you can delete it at any time by disconnecting from your Google Photos account in the Add from Google Photos screen. You can delete the downloaded photos from your journal at any time, at which point we will delete them from our servers.

Your Data Protection Rights

You have the following rights:

  • Access Right  You can request us for copies of your personal data. (We may charge a fee for this service.)
  • Rectification Right  You can request us to correct any information that you believe to be incorrect, and to complete any information that you believe to be incomplete.
  • Right to Erasure  You have the right to request that we erase your personal data. Note that we may be unable to comply if we are legally restricted from doing so.
  • Right to Restrict Processing  You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data. Note that doing so will make your data unavailable to users.
  • Right to Object to Processing  You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data. You must provide the specific reasons for your objection.

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please send your request to dulynoted@indius.com. We have one month to respond to you.
